There’s a reason the best restaurants in the U.S. are located in cities with thriving food scene, such as Austin and Los Angeles.
But a new survey by restaurant critic and critic-in-residence at The Economist finds that many of the country’s most iconic and famous restaurants are still struggling.
Among the most popular dishes are the classic burger and the classic steakhouse sandwich, which are both pretty good and well-served at some restaurants.

But we also found a few other places with bad rankings that might help explain why.
The burger at The Golden Bough restaurant is great, but it doesn’t compare to the burgers in places like Burger King and Burger King franchises.
The Golden Bowl burger, the same burger served at the Golden Brough restaurant, is the most beloved of all, but not the most favorite among our top 10 best burger places.
The steakhouse burger is delicious, but there’s nothing quite like a steakhouse steakhouse.
